Montserrat Vega

Founder and Executive Director of Green Please for Kids

Kindergarten Educator (University of Concepción) and cultural manager (University of Chile), expert in early childhood education in contexts of cultural diversity and with an interdisciplinary approach, both formal and non-formal education spaces.

I have been director of Kindergartens and the Cultural Centre for Children El Triciclo. Also, she has worked as Teacher in Languages, Yoga, Art, Philosophy, Culture and Sustainability in Chile and overseas. In recent years she was a manager and teacher of educational programs for children at the Cervantes Institute based in Berlin, Germany and Sydney, Australia.

In Montserrat’s words

I decided to create Green Please for kids for the love of the planet and the integral development of people, because through a non-profit organization, I see it possible to empower children and young people with responsible global citizenship for the length, width and depth of their own lives. The future of human beings is in danger and I deeply believe that we must hand over the tools so that they can deal with current and future challenges. The earth will still stand, adapt, reinvent itself; it is humans who are threatened with extinction.

Gabriela Simonetti-Grez

Degree in Performing Arts and Master in Cultural Management. Currently, she lives in Isla Riesco, located in Magallanes, living daily with biodiversity as well as its threats. Therefore, in addition to working on the value of the natural heritage of the area, she is an environmental defender.

Since 2004 he has been dedicated to the management and cultural production of theatre projects, books, television and music. Since the beginning of 2012 she has held the role of Executive Director of Kauyeken Association, focused on rescuing the socio-cultural value of natural heritage through research, education and dissemination.

Gabriela grew up in a family that has dedicated her life to understanding and conserving the biodiversity of the country and from a very young age she was fortunate to know the nature of Chile and its relevance to the well-being and cultural expressions of society.

In Gabriela’s words

I am convinced that biodiversity must be preserved, first for its intrinsic value, as well as for being the key to the well-being and survival of society. Learning about nature and making efforts to preserve it, teaches us daily the relevance of understanding ourselves as a society that depends on others and must therefore coexist on the basis of empathy, respect and a sense of the collective. Therefore, being part of a space like Green Please for Kids, which brings together perspectives and experiences to help build a society that lives in harmony with nature, is a challenge that I take on with the optimism and urgency that the world requires to advance truly sustainable development.

Valeria Hernández O’Ryan

Environmental engineer and partner of Lat45 Consultant. Since the beginning of her career she has been linked to important energy projects, contributing from her field of action to face the challenges imposed by the new times, marked by a deep environmental crisis and a number of socio-environmental conflicts.

She is currently environmental advisor to Lat45, supporting projects related to the aquaculture industry through the development of engineering for public works, among others.

Valeria’s motivation to participate in the Green Please for Kids Foundation aligns with her deep conviction that the new generations are and will be the protagonists of change. In which early-stage environmental education will raise awareness among children, developing habits and delivering tools to make responsible decisions and measures in the future.

Fernanda Pinedo Bulnes

Basic General Educator (Catholic University). She has studied in her travels around the world endless things of knowledge such as clown, astrology, alternative economies, flamenco, improvisation theatre, storytelling and many more.

In Fernanda’s words

As a child I wanted to be

 a nanny, artist, teacher, psycho, 

and even a bus singer, 

which I did while I was traveling. 

As a child, I didn’t imagine that 

the twists of life flying 

by parachute would transport me 

from there and sow me to here, 

equipped with experiences, well nourished.

I met Montse 

a few years ago, 

I saw a Tricycle and then another, 

then I saw her in Berlin 

radiant as Seraphim 

in her art workshops 

what she knows, 

there she shares and teaches her language 

patiently that she does not diminish 

what she dreams…

I know that she is creator 

and thus materializes her dreams, 

the big and the small ones, 

she follows and take care of what emerges. 

I know that we dream the same thing: 

a world with fewer attitudes 

and more dedicated to love 

that protects the well-being 

of all organisms.

Including this planet 

and its ancient people who although 

in insufficient numbers 

show how it is respected 

without leaving empty the vein 

taking care of the most loved. 

Life is a sacred thing! 

With art we will learn, 

by learning we will teach, 

to repair what is damaged.

After all I studied 

Education and other things 

such as Theatre, and other more peculiar things, 

that I found along the way. 

Whenever I could, I taught. 

Now I came back to my country 

everything takes another turn, 

caring for the Earth is urgent 

also to all its people.

Elizabeth Dastres Espinoza

Diploma of the international school of gesture and image La Mancha, Plastic artist who seeks the interrelated relationship between sensory experience, movement, nature, matter and spectator under the sociocultural contexts that represent us, seeking the remaking of meaning of public spaces and the protection of nature that have led her to participate in various national and international meetings, opening spaces of research from an anthropological perspective of art. 

She is part of the company Teatro del Sonido, Colectivo ChaskiNómade, Colectivo Coinspirantes, and Organización Green Please for the kids.

In Elizabeth’s words

I am part of this beautiful team, because I have always thought that a childhood that gives us self-care tools with a universal and ecological consciousness will raise whole adults.

I am here because I feel deep hope and connection with the cycles of nature, together with these beautiful women and girls who have accompanied my journey in pedagogy from an ecological and inclusive perspective. I met Montse a few years ago, for his beautiful conviction in a transformative education.

I am happy and grateful that today we are together again with the girls of the creative team who are so powerful and aware of their existence on this planet, prepared to make the earth a better world.

María José Bello

Graduated in Performing Arts and founding actress of the theatre companies C.I.T (Central of Theatrical Intelligence) in 2004 and Teatro La Nacional in 2005. With both companies she has developed numerous montages, being worthy of important recognitions inside and outside Chile.

In 2012, she conducted a channel 13 cable program called Factor of Change, in which they invited people to be a change factor in environmental issues and raise awareness to live in a healthier and more sustainable environment.

For María José Factor of Change was the first concrete approach to sustainable initiatives that somehow were already part of her deepest concerns.

In María José’s words

When I was invited to be part of Green Please for Kids, I felt a tingling of happiness all over my body. I am convinced that change is today and that educating our children in this field is more than fundamental, giving them tools linked to knowledge and practice in their early stages, it is the basis for achieving a paradigm shift in the care of the planet.

I think it is necessary to leave individualism behind, work collaboratively and nurture from the root. The new generations are advancing like giant steps and today they are the future of the world and we must work together to raise consciences. 

Camila Diez Huerta

Because of her passion for animals and understanding how we can communicate with them and create horizontal relationships, where respect and communication are the key to working a deep emotional development, Camila is a hypo therapist in hand with Gustavo Becerra, hypo therapist and founder of Los Sendero’s del Caballo, focusing on the area of natural riding and creating links with horses, working on the foundations of the body, movement, understanding of the environment and expression. 

She is also a dancer and flamenco teacher for children and adults also a member of the flamenco company El Rito, which she has performed in outstanding national settings such as Nescafé de las Artes, Teatro Oriente, Camilo Henríquez, Teatro Municipal de Rancagua, Parque Cultural de Valparaíso and Teatro Municipal de Punta Arenas, among others. In 2020 she will play Ser with the company El Rito, as artistic director and dancer. 

Camila, at the same time is a designer by profession, codirector of Proyecto Fuego, art agency and specialist in the area of movement and expression, styling and art direction in audio-visual and photography.

I wanted to participate in Green Please for Kids, for my great love for nature and animals, I think it is essential to take actions that can help create a better world, where we relate and communicate in a healthy way, from respect and regardless of our appearance, abilities or species.

Paulina Silva Hauyón

She holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Finnis Terrae University of Santiago de Chile and a master’s degree in Research in Art and Creation from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. 

She has produced artistic projects of a personal and collaborative nature, which have been exhibited in museums, galleries, cultural centres and artistic residences in Chile, France, Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Brazil, among others. Likewise, she has taught  Visual Arts in universities, museums and given workshops in Spain, Chile and Argentina, implementing innovative methodologies for learning techniques and artistic tools that contribute to the creativity and appreciation of the art of children and young people, as well as a way of thinking that promotes the ability to observe their environment in a sensitive and critical way.

It has also implemented various methodologies to approach the artistic production of artists in training and professionals, promoting an inclusive experience of practices and learning, contributed by the same working group, towards the idea of an analysis and criticism of permanent art.

In Paulina’s words

We are going through an extremely critical moment regarding our biodiversity that is the product of extreme capitalism that does not consider the permanence of people in posterity. My interest in being part of Green Please for Kids is because of the need to work collaboratively and from trans disciplinarity to combine knowledge, strength and confront this political and economic ideology that sweeps not only with the dignity of people but with their place of permanence.

Art may not change the world, but it can reinvent it.

Javiera Donoso Azagra

A Clinical psychologist who graduated from the Central University of Chile. Other qualifications include a Diploma in Expressive Techniques and Symbolic Elaboration from Adolfo Ibáñez University, and Fundamentals and Practices of the Psychoanalytic Clinic from Diego Portales University (Winnicot campus).

She is also a Floral therapist, Yoga therapist and Meditation teacher, graduated and certified by Holistic Woman.

In the last three years Javiera has founded and coordinated the Self-Love Program, focusing on working with women to develop emotional strength, self-esteem and self-care. 

n 2019 she published her first book ‘Blessed Cancer’ which is a testimonial story, a kind of psychic chronicle around the personal experience of gastric cancer.

In Javiera’s words

I am passionate about the desire and intention to mobilize the consciousness of human beings, to build universal values and psychological keys that allow us to accompany, understand and adapt our way of living in periods of global change, in which we see as unsustainable to continue living as we have done so far – climate crisis, pollution, drought, overconsuming, exploitation of natural goods, which have led us to become unhappy humans, sick, alienated and destructive beings. An awakening of conscience is urgent.

My motivation for being part of Green Please for Kids is to be able to sow in our hearts a seed of consciousness that allows us to return to live in connection, respect and harmony both as a human community and in our relationship with Mother Earth.

Isabel León Cifuentes

Metallurgical Civil Engineer from the University of Concepción, with years of experience in the areas of Planning, Plant Metallurgy, Geo metallurgy and Laboratories. She has worked in Chilean miners and projects such as geometalurgist.

During her work experience, she has focused her motivations on: directing, planning, controlling and integrating processes, such as geological variables to metallurgy, maintaining as the main value work in miners in which within her charter of values prime awareness, respect for the environment and its communities and care the water resource in a sustainable way for the indigenous communities. Her challenge is to understand in a cross-cutting way the different mining-geo-metallurgical problems, therefore she has tried to work in the various areas of the process, which has helped her to have a holistic vision.

Her main competencies or skills are drive and perseverance oriented to a high capacity for teamwork.

In Elizabeth’s words

In my development as a person, I have learned that my profession can be a tool that allows me to develop multiple projects in various disciplines. Therefore, I have decided to support Green Please for the Kids from a project plan for integral development, emotional and conscious of the new generations and find a turning point to the less sustainable culture in which we currently living in.

Nancy Carrasco Ríos

Chilean/Australian recently returned from abroad after living almost 30 years away from Chile.

Her professional training has been linked to administration, offshore coordinator programs within the tertiary and corporate educational sector. Her job responsibilities have been to provide support to teachers, academic staff and international visitors. She has also been in charge of training programs, seminars, events and communication. In addition to having extensive knowledge of the English language, she is a certified Spanish to English Interpreter, and has been able to work as an English Tutor.

She has worked on volunteer programs for Oxfam, UNICEF, Latin film festival, community centres and indigenous peoples. One of her last projects was to work as vice president and grant manager for ‘‘Heartdancers, a foundation that creates unity through the arts for inclusion, diversity and education. 

She also worked for AUSIT (Australian Institute of Interpreters and Translators) a non-profit organisation, as a Professional Development Coordinator, organising events, attending various committee meetings and a variety of programs. She was also promoted to the Branch Committee Chair position managing the day-to-day activities of the NSW Branch. This voluntary contribution outlines her commitment with AUSIT.

She has also performed in the Arts as an assistant in workshops/dance groups, yoga and cultural events.

In Nancy’s words

After a long return, my intention is to expand my field of work and share my professional experiences within an intercultural human group that we can deal in conjunction with current and future difficulties, this way be able to deliver a message to our future generations for a better planet and a more sustainable life.
